The 36th session of WP.1 will continue
its consideration of proposed amendments to the Vienna Conventions
and European Agreements on road traffic and on road signs and signals
as well as the revision of the consolidated resolutions on road
traffic (R.E.1) and on road signs and signals (R.E.2). Within this
framework, WP.1 will examine in particular issues related to mobile
phone use, definitions of mopeds and motorcycles, behaviour at pedestrian
crossings, safety of pedestrians, driving permits, the placement
of distinguishing signs, accident black spot signs, assistance to
victims of road accidents, roller skaters and use of daytime running
lamps.

Joint Meeting of the Working Parties on Combined

The first joint session of WP.24 and SC.2 will focus
in particular on providing guidance on how international combined
transport can be promoted. The meeting will take stock of the present
situation of combined road/rail transport and will consider measures
on how to improve its performance, particularly the performance
and insufficient service quality of the rail leg. Key issues will
be in this context: rail and terminal infrastructures, operational
rail problems, interoperability issues, prices and tariff structures,
regulatory policies, specific problems in countries in transition.
