The United Nations Regional Commissions Round Table will focus on regional issues related to the implementation of paperless trade. The purpose is to give representatives from the regions an opportunity to discuss the practical issues related to implementing the ideas and concepts discussed during the International Forum on Trade Facilitation � Paperless Trade in International Supply Chains, which will be held during the preceding two days (see http://www.unece.org/forums/forum05/welcome.htm for details).

Participation in the Round Table is by invitation only.

Simultaneous translation will be provided in English, French Russian and Spanish.

10:00 - 11:15 Part 1 - Regional Perspectives on Paperless trade

National representative from each of the five UN regions will make a short presentation outlining the perspective of his or her region regarding the issues of paperless trade, commenting specifically on the presentations and discussions from the International Forum in the previous two days. Presenters will include:

11:45 - 12:45 Interactive discussions on key issues and approaches to paperless trade implementation 
 
Participants will be invited to participate in an interactive discussion to consider how the United Nations Regional Commissions could best assist countries in implementing paperless trade. This discussion will draw on the presentations and discussions from the International Forum and Part 1 of the Round Table, as well as the Paperless Trade Road Map and other background documents provided on the Forum website.
It is expected that these discussions will result in concrete suggestions and/or proposals for future work of the UN Regional Commissions in the area paperless trade.
