Transport and the Sustainable Development Goals
The Inland Transport Committee, supported by the Sustainable Transport Division of UNECE, carries out a number of activities which have a direct impact on the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. This page is a window on the main activities, publications and information in relation to this work with more information available directly within the activities of the single Working Parties and Groups of Experts, for example through the activities in relation to the Transport of Dangerous Goods (through ECOSOC), Climate change and sustainable transport and THE PEP.

Publication on "Transport for Sustainable Development - The case of Inland Transport"
This publication examines issues, progress and challenges in global efforts to achieve the transition to sustainable mobility of freight and people using inland modes of transport, i.e. road, railways, inland waterways and intermodal transport. It is the result of the cooperation among the five Regional Commissions of the United Nations and key global stakeholders, particularly, the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and the International Union of Railways (UIC), led by UNECE.
SDG capacity building in transport
A number of workshops have been planned across the region as part of the efforts of the Sustainable Transport Division to improve the capacity of member States in understanding the impact of, and monitoring, the Sustainable Development Goals. Information on these workshops is available below.
