Convocation to participate in the fifth session of the Informal ad hoc Expert Group on the Conceptual and Technical Aspects of Computerization of the TIR Procedure (Warsaw, 28 and 29 June 2004)

The UNECE secretariat would like to invite all participants in the Working Party on Customs Questions affecting Transport to participate in the 5 th session of the Informal ad hoc Expert Group on Conceptual and Technical Aspects of Computerization of the TIR Procedure , which, at the kind invitation of the Ministry of Finance and the Polish national association (ZMPD) will take place on:
28 and 29 June 2004, 10.00-18.00 hours

Main object of the meeting will be the finalization of Chapter 1 of the Reference Model (Business Domain), with the aim to submit this Chapter to WP.30 for endorsement. Outstanding issues are the elaboration of use cases and the high level class diagram (decisions 58 and 59). In addition, in line with the step-by-step approach adopted by WP.30, a review of Chapter 0.2 is required (decision 41). Finally, work on Chapter 2 (e-Business Requirements) will be initiated, in which the main requirements of a fully computerized TIR procedure will be identified, together with a description of the necessary steps to achieve this goal (decision 60) (See also document ExG/COMP/2004/10).
The working language of the meeting will be English only.
In order to ensure a smooth organization of the meeting, you are requested to fill-in the Conference registration form (word) (pdf) and to transmit the duly filled-in form not later than 18 June 2004 to the UNECE Transport Division, by fax (+41-22-917.06.14) or by e-mail ( [email protected] or [email protected] ).

The Ministry of Finance offers participants the opportunity to reserve rooms at the Radisson SAS Centrum Hotel Warsaw, 24 Grzybowska, PL 00132 Warsaw, at less than five minutes walking distance from the Customs Department, at the special rate of 105 euro per person per night (single or double room, including breakfast) + 7% VAT.
In case you are interested in this offer, you are invited to fill-in the Hotel reservation form (word) (pdf)and send it by e-mail to Mrs. Joanna Popiolek of the Ministry of Finance not later than 20 May 2004 . ([email protected]). Please be advised that the room offer is only valid for the Radisson Hotel and that only a limited number of rooms is available. Once all available rooms have been taken, or in case you want to stay in another hotel, you are requested to make your own hotel arrangements.

How to get from Warsaw Okecie Airport to Radisson SAS Hotel (24, Grzybowska Str.)
There are two options for transportation:
• by taxi - you are recommended you to use this way of transport.
Taxi rank is situated in front of the entrance to the airport ("Arrivals").
The fare should be approx. 35-45 PLN (approx. 10 EUR) and the journey takes some 20-30 minutes depending on the traffic.
• by public transport
Bus stop is situated in front of the entrance to the airport (Arrivals").
You should take bus No 175 and get off at the bus stop DWORZEC CENTRALNY (Central Railway Station) in front of the Mariott Hotel. Then you should take a tram going in the direction of Zoliborz (No 16, 17, 19 or 33) and get off at the next stop. It's only one stop but too long to go on foot. When you get off, go straight ahead and then turn right in Grzybowska Street. After several minutes you will be in front of your hotel Radisson SAS.
Tickets (2,40 PLN - valid for one journey) are available at the kiosk at the airport or can be purchased from bus driver (3 PLN). You should also buy additional ticket if you have a large luggage.
How to get from Radisson SAS Hotel to Ministry of Finance (12, Swietokrzyska Str)
• take a taxi (very short journey), or
• take a bus - You should go to the bus stop in Swietokrzyska Str. - across the street. Take one of the following buses: 150, 155, 174, 178, 192, 506 and get off at the second bus stop (Nowy Swiat). Ministry of Finance is the large building opposite the street, or
• take a walk (takes some 10-15- minutes).
