On 28 April 2023, the Special Envoy met with H.E. Mr. Paul Empole Losoko Efambe, Permanent Representative of the Democratic Republic of Congo to the United Nations Office at Geneva. During the discussion, the Special Envoy shared about the road safety situation in the country and recommended actions, including acceding the remaining 5 out 7 UN road safety legal instruments and improving road conditions and infrastructure. The Special Envoy also encouraged intensifying engagement with the UNRSF and support to the UN – JCDecaux road safety campaign.
