On 3 November 2023, the Special Envoy met with H.E. Mr. Indra Mani Pandey, Permanent Representative of India to the UN in Geneva. This was the occasion for the Special Envoy to debrief the Ambassador on the mission to India, held in October, and discuss the relevant follow-up items including the engagement with Mr. Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa and H.E. Mr. Nitin Gadkhari India’s Minister for Road Transport & Highways; launching the Global Road Safety Campaign with the support of celebrities; and strengthening the Safe and Affordable Helmet Programme in the country.
