The TIR Executive Board (TIRExB), a subsidiary body of the TIR Administrative Committee (AC.2), supervises and provides support in the application of the TIR procedure at the national and international level. It is composed of 9 members, each from a different Contracting Party to the TIR Convention, who are elected for a two year term of office.
The next TIRExB election will take place at the forty-seventh session of the TIR Administrative Committee (Geneva, 5 February 2009). The UNECE secretariat would appreciate receiving nominations from candidates who wish to stand for election as member of the TIRExB. Nominations should be made by the candidate's government or organization being Contracting Party to the TIR Convention and should reach the UNECE TIR secretariat not later than on 8 December 2008.
