At the request of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the UNECE member States participating in the work of the Working Party on Customs Questions affecting Transport (WP.30) are kindly invited to study and review the following draft ISO standards, which relate to UNECE legal instruments in the field of Border Crossing Facilation, including supply chain security. Possible comments to the drafts should be conveyed to the ISO through the competent national ISO member body not later than 1 May 2007.
SUPPLY CHAIN SECURITY
Draft International Standard ISO/DIS 28000 (English) on Specifications for security management systems for the supply chain ;
Draft International Standard ISO/DIS 28001 (English) on Security management systems for the supply chain – Best practices for implementing suply chain security, assessments and plans – Requirements and guidance ;
Draft International Standard ISO/DIS 28003 (English) on Security management systems for the supply chain – Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of supply chain security managment systems ;
Draft International Standard ISO/DIS 28004 (English) on Security management systems for the supply chain – Guidelines for the implementation of ISO/PAS 28000.
MECHANICAL SEALS
Draft International Standard ISO/DIS 17712 (English; French) on Freight containers – Mechanical Seals (See, in particular, Annex A on (normative) Seal manufacturers’ security-related practices.
These draft ISO standards will also be reproduced as Informal documents, for consideration by the WP.30 at its one-hundred-and-sixteenth session (6-8 June 2007).
