The Regional Workshop on the Development of National Sustainable Energy Policies will be held on 29 September, 10:00-17:00. It is organized under the framework of the UN Development Account project Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia. The participants of the workshop - national government officials and international experts - will share best practices for the development of national sustainable energy policies in selected countries of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia through multi-stakeholder consultations. These consultations will help countries assess best practices’ applicability to the national circumstances and develop national models for improvement of sustainable energy policies. Participants will further be briefed about the UNECE flagship Project Pathways to Sustainable Energy, and the results of the UNECE Regional report of the Global Tracking Framework for Sustainable Energy and the UNECE REN21 Renewable Energy Status Report. The discussion results of the workshop will feed into the Pathways project to inform the modelling work of sustainable energy scenarios in the UNECE sub-regions, as well as support the formation of Policy options to derive adaptive Policy pathways towards 2050. More information on the status of the project can be found here.
