Fourteenth meeting of the UNECE Steering Committee on Education for Sustainable Development, Salle VII, Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland
2 - 3 May 2019
The Committee is expected to address:
- Implementation of the UNECE Strategy for Education for Sustainable Development:
- Preliminary results on progress achieved and challenges encountered in the fourth phase of implementation;
- Regional framework of cooperation for sustainable development: Regional Forum on Sustainable Development;
- Outcomes of capacity-building activities.
- ESD for achieving SDGs through the engagement of youth.
- Recent activities to promote education for sustainable development in other international forums.
- Outcomes of the first meeting and of the subsequent work of the Ad hoc group for Strategic Planning: the draft concept note for the post-2019 implementation framework.
- Outline of the draft workplan for the post-2019 implementation framework.
- Strengthening synergies with other organizations and processes.
- Preparations for the next mandatory reporting cycle (2019–2023) under the Strategy: updating the format for reporting.
- Status of the trust fund and resource requirements.
The meeting is a paperless event to the extend possible. Participants are encouraged to download the documents in electronic format. Documents for the meeting are made available on this website.

Since Switzerland is a part of the Schengen Zone, obtaining a visa might take up to 5 weeks. Participants needing a visa are therefore requested to submit their application as soon as possible and initiate visa procedures at least four weeks before the meeting.
Requests for financial support should be submitted to the UNECE secretariat (elizabeth.james(at)un.org) not later than Friday, 31 March 2019. No application will be accepted after this deadline.
