Food loss/waste and SDGs - Resources

Addressing the food loss and waste challenge is a major contribution to the Agenda 2030 and its multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and their targets:

  • SDG 12: Target 12.3 on halving per capita food waste by 2030, as well as SDG 12’s other targets on: promoting the reduction of waste generation through prevention, recycle and reuse; efficient use of natural resources; sustainable procurement practices; or even improving technological capacity to move towards sustainable production and consumption patterns.
