UNECE in cooperation with relevant partner organizations in the "Environment for Europe" process is organizing a workshop for journalists in order to provide them with information on the major issues to be discussed and the decisions expected at the Seventh “Environment for Europe” Ministerial Conference, the “Environment for Europe” process and its role in addressing key environmental problems.

The workshop will allow participants to better understand the “Environment for Europe” process and its role in shaping the environmental agenda in the region.

It will offer an opportunity for journalists to deepen their knowledge and meet the various experts working on the issues to be addressed at the Conference:

  • the sustainable management of water and water related ecosystems
  • greening the economy: mainstreaming the environment into economic development

The workshop will take place on 20 September 2011 in Astana. The workshop and the Conference will take place in the Independence Palace.

who may participate
It is expected that journalists with a proven interest in environmental issues will attend the workshop.

English/Russian interpretation will be provided during the workshop.
