Interested
in trading with one of the 55 UNECE member
countries?
UNECE's new Directory contains all the
key contacts
Geneva, 1 April
2003 - The legal and institutional
environment supporting trade is constantly
changing. This makes it difficult to
understand trade regulations and requirements
at an international level, placing smaller
enterprises and lower income countries
at a disadvantage.
To fill the "information
gap" within its region, the UNECE has
developed a Trade Promotion Directory.
The Directory offers enterprises and
investors the major contacts and information
they need for doing business. It is
published on the web and can be accessed
from the web site of the UNECE Committee
for Trade, Industry and Enterprise Development
at:
http://www.unece.org/trade/
All UNECE member States
are included, i.e. all countries in
Western, Central and Eastern Europe,
Central Asia and the Caucasus, the United
States, Canada and Israel. The information
is organized by country, and under each
country are lists of organizations that
deal with the following areas:
- Information
for investment and enterprises
- Government
organizations and other supporting
organizations
- Trade
facilitation
- Corporate
governance (including regulatory
agencies)
- Trade
and enterprise financing
- Chambers
of commerce and business associations
- Sectoral
business associations
