Pathways to Sustainable Energy - Consultation Workshop

14 - 15 May 2019

Salle S4, Palais des Nations, Geneva

UNECE is now exploring alternative pathways countries might consider for achieving their national targets while contributing to global and regional objectives. The flagship project "Pathways to Sustainable Energy" is an important vehicle for understanding the gaps that exist in meeting the energy-related objectives of the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development and the opportunities available to close the gaps. It will also allow countries to understand and appreciate the choices that other countries have.

This workshop is offered to those experts interested in knowing more about the models and approach. It will explain the key results to date based on sustainable energy scenarios and seek to develop insights and policy recommendations for discussions at the Committee on Sustainable Energy forthcoming meetings. The two-day workshop will feature a multi-stakeholder dialogue with the modelers, a capacity building workshop with representatives from Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia subregion and take a closer look at the role of gas in sustainable energy. The workshop targets some twenty international energy experts with a focus on the subregional context and capacity building.

Please register for better planning, as the room is very small. Participation is at a first come first serve basis.
