Jörg Mayer
Senior Economic Affairs Officer, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development
Jörg Mayer is a Senior Economist at the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD) where he is part of the team that prepares UNCTAD annual Trade and Development Report. Before joining the United Nations in 1991, he was an economist in the International Department of the German central bank. His areas of expertise include development strategies and the interrelationships between macroeconomic policies, trade, investment, employment and growth. He has published his work in peer-reviewed journals, books and conference volumes. He holds a PhD in economics from the European University Institute in Florence (Italy).
