On June 26, as a follow-up of the United Nations Coordination Meeting for Road Safety in April 2016, the Special Envoy met with Mr. Nikhil Seth, United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)’s Executive Director, to learn more about UNITAR’s upcoming road safety training programs as well as to provide recommendations to strengthen UNITAR’s road safety program and to foster stronger coordination with road safety stakeholders globally. Mr. Seth requested for the review and feedback of UNITAR’s training materials. UNITAR is interested to liaise with the Special Envoy and UNECE during the preparation and implementation phases of UNITAR’s road safety initiatives, which are expected to launch during Fall 2016.
