Sibylle Vermont

Sibylle Vermont is the head negotiator of the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment for international environmental policy on water, forests and wetlands.

A biologist by training, she has been working towards synergies between the 3 sectors. She was the Chairperson of the Meeting of the Parties to the UNECE Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes from 2009 to 2012, and played a major role in the advocacy for the Convention’s global application. Since 2013, she is the co-chair of the Convention’s Task Force on Water and Climate.
