The Working Party held its 61st session from 1 to 3 June 2010 in Geneva
The Working Party adopted a Road Map on collection and dissemination of transport statistics. Several proposals on the streamlining of the Common questionnaire were approved. The Questionnaire on road traffic accidents was also revised in order to improve the data collection.
The Working Party invited the secretariat to present the study on hinterland connections of seaports to Eurostat’s Task Force on intermodal transport statistics in 2011 for discussion, and next elaborate and present proposals for the future work of WP.6 in this domain at the next session.
The Working Party discussed a proposal relating to passenger accessibility to rail systems in EU countries and decided that a questionnaire on this issue will be circulated by ERA and the secretariat in order to obtain pan European statistics on the subject.
The Working Party invited all UNECE member countries to participate in the 2010 E-road and E-rail traffic censuses in compliance with ITC Resolutions No. 259 and No. 260, and to transmit relevant data to the UNECE secretariat within the stipulated time frames.
The pilot questionnaire on road traffic performance will continue to be circulated for the next year.
