Notification in accordance with Marginal 10 599/Chapter 1.9 of ADR

 

Notification in accordance with marginal 10 599 of ADR

Transmitted by the Government of Norway

1. The provisions which are additional to those of ADR, issued by the National Road Administration  and which apply to vehicles engaged in national and international carriage of dangerous goods on the territory of Norway in accordance with marginal 10 599 (2)(a) is given below.

2. The secretariat is requested to bring these provisions to the attention of the Contracting Parties in accordance with marginal 10 599(3).

3. The following special regulations regarding transport of dangerous goods in tunnels, issued by the Norwegian Road Administration are in force:

Oslotunnelen (Fjellinjen, E18);
Vålerengtunnelen (Rv 190);
Hammersborgtunnelen (Rv 162)
in Oslo:

Transport of certain dangerous substances and articles are prohibited during rush-hours (0700 - 0900 and 1400 - 1800). The prohibition is not in force on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

The following dangerous substances and articles are covered:

a) Explosives of Class 1, division 1,1, in amounts in excess of 50 kg per transport unit;
b) the following gasses of Class 2, when transported in tanks or tank-containers, in amounts in excess of  3000 litres per transport unit:
- anhydrous ammonia, chlorine and sulphur dioxide of 2TC;
- flammable gasses and gasses dissolved under pressure of 2F, 2TF, 2TCF, 3F and 4A, 4F and 4TC;
c) flammable liquids of Class 3 classified under (a) when transported in tanks or tank-containers in amounts in excess of 3000 litres per transport unit.


Tunnelsambandet Ålesund - Valderøy (Rv 658)

Transport of the following dangerous substances and articles is forbidden on Rv 658, on the stretch between the crossing with E69 in Ålesund and Ytterland, Valderøy in Giske between 0600 and 2400:

a) Flammable liquids with a flashpoint < 23°C in amounts in excess of 3000 litres per transport unit;
b) compressed or liquefied gasses in amounts in excess of 200 kg per transport unit;
c) explosive substances or articles of  Division 1.1 exceeding 25 kg net mass of explosives per transport unit.


The Road Administration of Møre and Romsdal County may, in co-operation with the local fire-chief deviate from these provisions on individual cases.

Hvalertunnelen (Rv 108)

Transport of dangerous goods, except gasoil, heating oil, kerosene and formic acid, is not allowed when there is other traffic in the tunnel. Passage with dangerous goods must be co-ordinated with the Toll-Plaza operator.
