The Annual Session took place from 24 to 26 November 2009. It was preceded by a Workshop on “Practical Application of Risk Assessment and Management Tools”, and followed by a Conference on Risk Assessment and Management.
Its main achievements were:
- Support to cooperation in the area of risk assessment and management for a regulatory framework that meets societal demand without stifling innovation or creating unnecessary technical barriers to trade;
- Approval of the Common Regulatory Objectives for the Initiative on Equipment on Explosive Environments,
- Revision of the Objectives for the Initiative for Earthmoving Equipment,
- Approval of the terms of reference of the Initiative on the Safety of Pipeline
- Starting the publication of quarterly reports and a yearly consolidated report on technical regulations in the European Union and other regions
