Global Facilitation Partnership for Transportation and Trade

The last biannual meeting of the Global Facilitation Partnership for Transportation and Trade, hosted by UNECE, took place on 17 February 2006.

This meeting offered GFP partners an opportunity to jointly assess the implications for trade and transport facilitation of the WTO Ministerial Conference in Hong Kong. Participants took part in moderated discussion sessions on such issues, as Customs Formalities and Fees, Transparency and Availability of Information, Goods in Transit and Institutional Cooperation Mechanism for Technical Assistance and Trade and Security. The concluding open discussion addressed the issue of an institutional cooperation mechanism for technical assistance and capacity-building.
