New recommended practice on the implementation of Annex 10 of the TIR Convention

27 May 2010
Recently, the TIR Administrative Committee approved a new example of recommended practice. The aim of this recommended practice, which was prepared by the TIR Executive Board (TIRExB) is to provide national Customs and other competent authorities with guidelines how to best organize a speedy (or, ultimately, real time) transmission of required data to the international organization’s control system for TIR Carnets as provided for in Annex 10 of the Convention. The final objective of this recommended practice is to facilitate that the electronic data are transmitted to the international organization’s system immediately after termination at Customs offices of destination, once the Customs authorities have stamped counterfoil No. 2 of Voucher No. 2 of the TIR Carnet. The text of the recommended practice is available in English, French and Russian.
