The TIR secretariat has been informed that the Association of International Road Carriers of Tajikistan (ABBAT) has been designated issuing and guaranteeing body for TIR Carnets in Tajikistan and, in this capacity, has started its activities as of 14 July 2003. As a result, since that date Tajikistan should be considered a country with which a TIR transit operation can be established.
Further details on TIR Customs transit arrangements in and with Tajikistan, including a list of Tajik Customs offices (departure, destination and en route) approved for TIR operations, may be obtained from the TIR secretariat or the International Road Transport Union (IRU).
