TYPES OF CHARTS - STACKED BAR CHARTS
Stacked bar charts are used to compare compositions across categories. They can be vertical or horizontal and can show absolute values, or when using 100% stacked bar charts, they can be used to compare percentage composition.
Although they can be used for various kinds of data, stacked bar charts are most effective for categories that add up to 100 per cent (100% stacked bar chart). For legibility purposes, their use should be restricted to a small number of categories and three-dimentional versions should be avoided as they can be confusing to the reader. If a category is too small and thus not clearly visible, the data can either be displayed in several charts with different scales or the category can be combined with other categories of similar context.
