Provide information about experiences among electronic raw data reporting experts in national statistical offices, and to work towards developing a resource base of good practices in ERDR.

 

What is Electronic Raw Data Reporting (ERDR)?

Electronic Data Reporting incorporates “raw” data that is electronically entered into systems for subsequent statistical reporting.

 

“Raw” or source data is data that has been captured but not yet processed or interpreted for use. Raw data cannot be derived from other data.

 

Raw data can enter systems in many forms and over recent times, electronic entry has been increasing. Electronic entry can take many forms. Examples include:

  • Electronic data interchange (EDI)
  • XML based exchange
  • Web based
  • Telephony based input
  • Fax with OCR
  • Bar code
  • RFID (radio frequency)
