We developed, with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), a manual on victimization surveys. This manual provides member countries with a useful tool to develop national victimization surveys that follow international methodological guidelines, and it is aimed at improving availability and comparability of data on victimization.
We also promoted, jointly with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the development of an international crime classification systems for statistical use, to improve consistency and international comparability of crime statistics. The first result of this work is the document "Principles and framework for an international classification of crimes for statistical purposes", which was endorsed by the Conference of European Statisticians in 2012. UNODC is pursuing further work on the development of the crime classification
