The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were developed by leaders from 189 nations, in September 2000, to track progress on the commitment made in the United Nations Millennium Declaration.
We contribute to monitoring progress in achieving the MDGs in South-East European (SEE) and East European, Caucasus and Central-Asian (EECCA) countries. We work together with UNICEF and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to provide a regional perspective through databases and reports on MDG progress, and to assist countries in developing or improving their statistical capacities to monitor their development progress
We also participate in the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on MDG Indicators, coordinated by the United Nations Statistics Division. This group is responsible for the preparation of data and analysis to monitor progress towards the MDGs.
