On 17 November 2016, the Special Envoy gave opening remarks at the UN Road Safety Collaboration Meeting where his key recent and upcoming activities were highlighted, including his participation at the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, Habitat III and advocacy for the inclusion of the road safety in the New Urban Agenda. Alongside Executive Secretary of UNECE, Mr. Christian Friis Bach, the Special Envoy provided updates on the progress of the exploration of UN Road Safety Trust Fund.
