On 25 June, the Special Envoy met with Secretary-General of the United Nations to share updates on his activities, and next steps on the exploration of the road safety trust fund, which was included in Resolution A/70/L.44. The Secretary-General and the Special Envoy discussed the importance of road safety in upcoming international forums, such as Habitat III and the Secretary-General’s Conference on Sustainable Transport. The Secretary-General requested that road safety is highlighted and for his Special Envoy for Road Safety to have a strong presence at both conferences.
