eTIR specifications

The eTIR specifications contain description of the TIR Procedure Computerization Project.

The eTIR specifications were first called the eTIR reference model and were developed following the UN/CEFACT Modelling Methodology (UMM).

The eTIR specifications (and the former reference model) are first intended to facilitate the work of the Informal ad hoc Expert Group on Conceptual and Technical Aspects of Computerization of the TIR Procedure and to provide modelling support. At various stages, versions of the eTIR specifications and the reference model have been and will be submitted to the Working Party on Customs Questions affecting Transport (WP.30) and the Administrative Committee for the TIR Convention (AC.2) for endorsement as well as for serving as reference for any future work in the eTIR Project.

The table below presents the various versions and the validation dates for the various parts and versions of the eTIR specifications and the reference model.

1 This table contains the dates on which the various versions of parts of the reference model have been validated (endorsed) by the different groups. The cells in grey indicate that endorsement by that specific group is not required or did not take place.
2 Informal ad hoc Expert Group on Conceptual and Technical Aspects of Computerization of the TIR Procedure.
3 WP.30 supported document version 4.1a of the eTIR Reference Model as a basis for future work of GE.2 as well as for pilot projects. At the same time WP.30 recalled that the eTIR Reference Model is not “carved in stone”.
