The Steering Committee of the UNECE Strategy for ESD held its eighth session on 21 and 22 March 2013.
The session comprised two segments:
(a) the general meeting of the Steering Committee for Education for Sustainable Development; which focused on the progress made and the experiences of countries in implementing the Strategy for Education for Sustainable Development since the seventh meeting, in particular with regard to advancing the three priority action areas;
(b) a joint segment with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which addressed the final assessment of the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005–2014) and its follow-up.

All delegates attending the Steering Committee meeting are requested to complete the registration form and to transmit it to the UNECE secretariat preferably no later than 13 March 2013 by e-mail (esd@unece.org). On their way to the meeting, delegates should obtain an identification badge at the Pass and Identification Unit of the United Nations Office at Geneva’s Security and Safety Section, located at the Pregny Gate, 14, Avenue de la Paix (see map).
