Working Group on Implementation

The Working Group on Implementation (WGI) is a subsidiary body which was created at the first meeting of the Conference of the Parties in 2000. Its terms of reference were revised at the ninth meeting (see pages 9-10)

The main responsibilities of the Working Group on Implementation are set out in the terms of reference.

The Working Group on Implementation has a maximum of ten members nominated from amongst representatives of the Parties to the Convention.

The Conference of the Parties, at its ninth meeting on 28-30 November 2016, elected the following persons to serve as members of the Working Group on Implementation until its eleventh meeting:

Mr. Peter Westerbeek (Netherlands)

Ms. Helena Fridh (Sweden)
Mr. Raphael Gonzalez (Switzerland)
Ms. Rachel McCann (United Kingdom)

The Working Group subsequently elected Mr. Iberl as its Chair.

National Implementation Reports

Individual country implementation reports submitted within the first (2000-2001), second (2002-2003), third (2004-2005), fourth (2006-2007), fifth (2008-2009) and sixth (2010-2011) reporting rounds are available to the competent authorities - and only to them - through a password-protected site, in accordance with a decision of the Conference of the Parties.
