Activities under the Espoo EIA Convention and its Protocol on SEA
Current workplan as adopted in June 2011 for period between 5th and 6th Meetings of the Parties, 2011-2014, in English, French and Russian.

Current activities:
- Compliance with and implementation of the Convention
- Subregional cooperation and capacity-building to strengthen contacts between the Parties and others, including States outside the UNECE region
- Exchange of good practices
- Promoting ratification and application of the Protocol on SEA
Discontinued/superseded/suspended activities (period between 4th and 5th Meetings of the Parties, 2008-2011):
- Compliance with and implementation of the Convention
- Subregional cooperation and capacity-building to strengthen contacts between the Parties and others, including States outside the UNECE region
- Exchange of good practices
- Promoting ratification and application of the Protocol on SEA
Discontinued/superseded/suspended activities (period between 3rd and 4th Meetings of the Parties, 2004-2008):
- Compliance with and implementation of the Convention
- Subregional cooperation to strengthen contacts between the Parties to the Convention
- Capacity-building in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (transboundary EIA)
- Exchange of good practices
- Examination of the substantive relationship between the Convention and the Protocol
- SEA capacity-building needs analysis in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia
- Production of a capacity-development manual, and provision of training, to support implementation of the Protocol
- Institutional and procedural activities (Protocol)
