UNECE elects its bureau
57th session of the UNECE
(Palais des Nations, Geneva, 7-10 May 2002)

Before the closing of its fifty-seventh session the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) elected the Bureau for its fifty-eighth session. Ambassador Clyde Kull, Permanent Representative of Estonia, and Ambassador Yaakov Levy, Permanent Representative of Israel, were proposed to serve as Chairperson of the Commission.

After a secret ballot, Mr. Clyde Kull of Estonia was elected Chairperson of the Economic Commission for Europe.

Ambassador Hans Heinemann, Permanent Representative of the Netherlands, Ambassador Yaakov Levy, Permanent Representative of Israel, and Ambassador Mykhailo Skuratovskyi, Permanent Representative of Ukraine, were elected Vice-Chairpersons.
