The International Working Group (IWG) is a consultative body of the Generations and Gender
Programme (GGP), which includes experts from governmental institutions, national statistical
offices, population research institutes and academia from countries participating in the
Programme. Representatives of more than 30 countries have participated in IWG meetings.
The meetings of the IWG are an important vehicle for co-ordination as they provide a forum
for direct interaction between the Consortium Board and its working groups that
are developing the common programme instruments, on the one hand, and the institutions responsible
for implementing the programme in the participating countries, on the other hand.
