Objective
To
promote further development of national institutional frameworks for official
statistics and strengthen the capacity of countries, particularly in Eastern
Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, to routinely collect, compile, store,
analyze and disseminate indicators in the economic, social, demographic and
environmental fields to produce quality data for policy development.

major practices in member countries through carrying out advisory missions

that they can produce essential macroeconomic, social and demographic
statistics, including the indicators for achieving the Millennium
Development Goals

study visits for officials from countries with economies in transition in
