Forum on Youth of  the member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States is a follow-up to the UNECE Regional Forum on Youth held on 24-26 August 2002 at the Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland

Purpose To raise the awareness of the problems faced by young people in the CIS countries and to mobilize collective action to remedy the situation.

Organization

The Forum is organized under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in cooperation with UNDESA , CIS Executive Committee, Government of Ukraine and with the support of  ILO, UNICEF, UNAIDS, and UNDP.

The Government of Ukraine is the host of the Forum. To prepare the Forum it has set up a National Organizing Committee, consisting of representatives of various organizations, including youth organizations, trade unions, unions of employers and entrepreneurs, educational establishments, academic circles and other stakeholders. 

The UNECE and the organizers of the CIS Forum call all the progressive forces in the region to join the Forum and to contribute to its successful outcome by sharing knowledge, experience and good practices. Future security and prosperity of the CIS and the UNECE region at large is in the hands of today's young people.
