Steering Committee was held on 24 April 2014 in Burabay with some 30 participants. Key decision taken was the recommendation to initiate the process of joining the Protocol on Water and Health. The recommendation for accession is based on the positive results of the assessment conducted by UNECE-supported local expert group, which examined the legal, institutional and financial needs for the implementation of the Protocol in Kazakhstan. Meeting also adopted the 2014-2015 NPD workplan in Kazakhstan.
