Task Force on the Water-Food-Energy-Ecosystems Nexus

08 December 2016
Salle XI, Palais des Nations Geneva Switzerland

The fourth meeting Task Force on the Water-Food-Energy-Ecosystems Nexus took place in the Palais des Nations in Geneva on 8 December 2016 back to back with the global workshop on Assessments of the water-food-energy-ecosystems nexus and response measures in transboundary basins (Geneva, 6-7 December 2016) , under the leadership of the Government of Finland, with the support of the UNECE secretariat.

The meeting aimed to discuss, plan and provide guidance to the implementation of the activities on the water-food-energy-ecosystems nexus under the programme of work for 2016-2018 of the Water Convention.  In particular, the status of the on-going basin assessments were reviewed and possible follow up actions to assessments already carried out discussed. Gaps in knowledge and possible strategic directions for future nexus work under the Water Convention with partners were reflected on with insights from partners.
