UN/ECE Chemical Industry Programme

UN/ECE ad hoc Group of Experts on the Chemical Industry

In 1997, during reform of the Economic Commission for Europe, the Working Party on the Chemical Industry was converted to an ad hoc Group of Experts on the Chemical Industry with a limited mandate. This mandate has now expired.

The Working Party on Industry and Enterprise Development (WP.8) was established in June 2000 at the fourth session of the Committee for Trade, Industry and Enterprise Development. The session of the Committee then decided to abolish the ad hoc Group of Experts on the Chemical Industry as of June 2001.

The last session of this Group of Experts took place on 23 March 2001. The meeting reviewed the activities accomplished during the past year and re-allocated remaining programme elements to the programme of work of the Working Party, for which a Team of Specialists on CHEMISEED was constituted. Please refer to the website of the Team of Specialists for further details on CHEMISEED.
