"Strengthening integrated water resources management and transboundary water cooperation:
the role of UNECE conventions and of the EU Water Initiative National Policy Dialogue"
Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, 6-7 December 2010

A two-day national seminar on integrated water resources management and transboundary water cooperation allowed to discuss the role of UNECE Conventions in strengthening water management at national and transboundary levels and to lay the foundations for developing a National Policy Dialogue in Turkmenistan. The seminar was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Water Economy of Turkmenistan in the framework of the programme "Regional Dialogue and Cooperation on Water Resources Management in Central Asia" financed by the Government of Germany through GTZ in the framework of the Berlin Water Process, as well as in the framework of EU Water Initiative and with additional financial support from Switzerland.
