Technical meeting on the template for reporting on SDG indicator 6.5.2 and under the Water Convention

16 - 17 January 2018

Budapest, Hungary

The Technical meeting on the template for reporting on SDG indicator 6.5.2 and under the Water Convention will be held on 16-17 January 2018 in Budapest, Hungary. It will start at 10.00 a.m. on Tuesday, 16 January 2018 and end at 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 17 January 2018.

The main objective of the technical meeting is to draw lessons from the first reporting exercise in order to improve the template for future reporting. The meeting will discuss possible revisions and clarifications to both the section of the template on reporting on indicator 6.5.2 and the relevant methodology, and the sections of the template for reporting under the Water Convention.

The working languages will be English, French, Russian and Spanish.

Participation and registration

The technical meeting is targeted to experts responsible for completing the reporting template or coordinating the reporting process on SDG indicator 6.5.2 and under the Water Convention. In order to enable an interactive and effective meeting, a limited number of country representatives from all regions of the world are being invited.

All participants are requested to register on line at www2.unece.org/uncdb/app/ext/meeting-registration by 31 December 2017. In case you need practical assistance with registration, please refer to the user manual or contact the UNECE secretariat by e-mail (katri.veldre@unece.org).

Since Hungary is part of the Schengen area, visa applications may take 5 weeks. Participants requiring a visa are therefore invited to register as soon as possible and start the visa application procedure at least 5 weeks in advance.

Eligible participants from countries with economies in transition and from developing countries may apply for financial support to facilitate their participation in the meeting. Requests for financial support should be submitted to the Water Convention secretariat (katri.veldre@unece.org) as soon as possible, but not later than 10 December 2017

The meeting will follow a PaperSmart model. Therefore, participants are asked to bring their own copies of documents or laptops.
