Supporting Women’s Entrepreneurship through the Use of Information and Communication Technologies

29 May - 16 June 2017

Haifa, Israel

Information brochure  ENG     RUS

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) are transforming our life every day, from bringing knowledge and information to connecting people worldwide and expanding opportunities. They can transform existing gender-based inequalities into resources and increase the flexibility of working arrangements. The use of ICTs empowers women and girls with new tools and solutions. The growing role of ICTs in addressing gender inequality has been recognised in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as an important pathway of development.

The international workshop on “Supporting Women’s Entrepreneurship through the Use of ICTs” contributes to capacity building and provides support, guidance and managerial tools to women entrepreneurs on the use of ICTs in business. The workshop discusses the various ways in which the new technologies can influence small business management and how women entrepreneurs can both benefit from and cope with the challenges of ICTs.

The workshop includes the following themes:

  • Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their impact on small business

  • The role of ICTs and social media in small business management

  • The position of women entrepreneurs at times of rapid global change

  • Role of project management tools in SME activities

  • Support systems for micro and small enterprises in Israe, including technological incubators

  • Psychology as a tool for successful business communication
