On the initiative of France, the formal 22nd ITS World Congress opening was preceded by a ministers' roundtable. Mrs Segolène Royal, minister of ecology, sustainable development and energy as well as Mr. Alain Vidalies, State Secretary for transport, the sea and fisheries broadly invited their Counterparts throughout the world and proposed to focus on ITS development prospects for the benefits of environment and climate.
The round table was co chaired by Commissioner V. Bulc (EC) and State secretary A. Vidalies (France) and moderated by E. Molnar (UNECE).
A manifesto entitled "ITS addressing climate change" was endorsed by the ministers's round table and is entended to contribute to the COP21 to take place in December 2015 in Paris.
