Eighth session of the Team of Specialists on Innovation and Competitiveness Policies

16 - 17 December 2015

Room VII, Palais des Nations, Geneva

The substantive segment of the 2015 meeting was an Applied Policy Seminar on “The Innovation Adoption Gap – Strategies and Policy Options for Accelerating the Adoption and Diffusion of Innovations”. In September 2015, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. Innovation can make an important contribution towards advancing this agenda, but only if it is adopted quickly and widely. This will require policy support not only on the supply side, but also on the demand side of the innovation process. The applied policy seminar discussed good practices and policy recommendations for addressing gaps in the adoption of innovations.
