Steering Committee on Trade Capacity and Standards - First Session

31 August - 1 September 2015

Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland

The first session of the Steering Committee on Trade Capacity and Standards will discuss recent achievements in removing regulatory and procedural barriers to the UNECE region. The session will feature a special focus on Kyrgyzstan, based on the results of the UNECE assessment study that was carried out in 2014-15. The session will also feature discussions on ongoing efforts to remove regulatory and procedural barriers to trade in Albania and the Republic of Moldova, where the UNECE is carrying out similar assessment studies. In addition, ongoing and planned reform efforts in Belarus, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan will be highlighted, including follow-up to the recommendations of UNECE assessment studies, which were carried out in 2012, 2013 and 2014, respectively.
