The meeting of the UNECE/FAO Team of Specialists on Forest Policy was hosted by the Government of Poland in Krakow from Tuesday 16 September to Thursday 18 September 2014 with an ice-breaking session on Monday 15 September.

The meeting was focused on the implementation of the Rovaniemi Action Plan for the Forest Sector in a Green Economy at the national level. Engaging governments and national stakeholders is crucial in taking action to make the best of the forest sector’s contribution to a Green Economy.
In this context, the meeting reviewed the activities of the Rovaniemi Action Plan that should be implemented at the national level. It also discussed how countries and other national stakeholders can use these activities to formulate forest policies, develop sectoral action plans or integrate forestry measures in green economy strategies.
