Lars Nordberg

Lars Nordberg was Secretary of the Executive Body for the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (CLRTAP) and Deputy Director of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Environment and Human Settlements Division until his retirement from the United Nations in 2000. Since then he has acted as adviser to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific (Bangkok) on matters related to air pollution and as Chair of the International Programme Advisory Group of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) for its Regional Air Pollution in Developing Countries (Asia and Africa) programme. Recently he co‑authored an evaluation of the Atmospheric Brown Cloud Programme and a Synthesis Report on the Malé Declaration, and in 2013 joined the International Cryosphere Climate Initiative (ICCI) as Himalayas Coordinator.
