Brinda Wachs is an Environmental Affairs Officer in the Operational Activities and Review Section of the UNECE Environment Division. She is responsible for managing, in cooperation with the UNECE Transport Division and WHO/Europe in Copenhagen, the Pan-European Programme on Transport, Health and Environment (THE PEP). She also works on the European Environment and Health (EEH) process and the Environment and Security Initiative (ENVSEC). Previously she was Senior Technical Adviser on Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and was UNECE Focal Point for Peacebuilding. She has an M.A. in International Political Economy from Columbia University and a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley.
