Joint event on public participation in decision-making in the nuclear domain (Luxembourg, 12-13 March 2013)
The meeting is organized under the auspices of the Aarhus Convention's Task Force on Public Participation in Decision-making (TF on PPDM), the Directorate-General Energy of the European Commission and the Association Nationales des Comités et Commissions Locales d'Information (ANCCLI), as foreseen in the Aarhus Convention's work programme (decision IV/6). The meeting will also serve as the fourth and final meeting of the TF on PPDM during this intersessional period.
The meeting will have a key role in contributing to the draft Recommendations on Public Participation in Environmental Decision-making that are currently being prepared under the auspices of the Aarhus Convention for improving the implementation of its provisions on public participation in decision-making. Participants will be invited to discuss and provide input on the final draft of the recommendations.
The meeting will also provide an opportunity for participants to discuss key issues of concern for Parties and stakeholders with respect to public participation in decision-making in the nuclear domain. It will examine obstacles and challenges to effective public participation on nuclear-related issues, as well as good practices and innovative tools to address them.
The meeting will be held at the European Commission premises, at the Jean Monnet Building (JMO) in Kirchberg, Luxembourg. (Meeting room M6), Address: Rue Albert Wehrer, L-2920 Luxembourg.
Please see the map with the JMO building location, instructions on how to get there from airport or from the Luxembourg train station and list of the suggested hotels.
Other meeting documents and presentations will be uploaded in due course. Please check this page regularly.
